Exhibition: Where to see the work in person -- October 2018

I am honored to be included in the exhibition, Beyond the Classroom: an exhibition showcasing the work of photographic artists, educators, and life-long learners at FRANK’s Michael & Laura Brader-Araje Community Outreach Gallery in Chapel Hill, NC. The address is 201 South Estes Drive, Chapel Hill, NC.

I hung 10 alt process pieces from 2 new series alongside my mentor Diana Bloomfield and fellow student Debbie Warren, and several other photographic artists.

The show officially opens October 3rd and runs until October 20, 2018. A reception is being held on Saturday, October 13

Happy 2018... New Year = New Works

Happy 2018... New Year = New Works

I added another printing technique to my practice this past year --- I started printing using palladium. It's deep and rich and I've always wanted to use it. I've started adding cyanotype and gum bichromate on top the palladium layers as well.

In the image above, the print on the right is a work print of only palladium. The print on the left is palladium with 3 layers of gum bichromate on top of it.

I'm in the practice stage now, also known as the "honeymoon phase" of printing. I'm loving every moment of it because it's all about experimentation and getting to know what these processes will do for my work.

I've got plans for at least one new series... It's nice to start the new year off with excitement and hope.
